Venice, oggi ho fatto l’amore.

Today I made love to my canvas. If you are an artist you will know what I mean. If you are not an artist, you will become one…..

……this morning I awoke in Venice town….the walk along the water’s edge…. the smell, the feel, the taste of the Venetian air as it filled my soul with each breath….. that morning we made love as one….. as a canvas needs paint, as music craves notes…..as a poem needs prose…..our thirst was quenched…..our desire was real….. we were complete that morning in Venice town…..

The relationship between the artist and his art needs to be real and alive. Today I became part of the canvas and the canvas became me. There was an energy and a passion that I hope you can see and feel.

As you may be able to tell the paint was thrown on to the canvas using a brush and a sponge.

Today was all about adding colour and creating feeling and energy on the canvas.

If you have seen the movie “Pollock” about the American abstract expressionist artist, you will know how I enjoyed today.

    Gary…
You remind me of what Jackson Pollock said when someone asked him how he knows he is done with a painting. He said…”It’s like making love, you know whenyou’re finished.”
Thanks for sharing. I fall in love with all of my paintings.
